This coming Sunday, IZAR celebrates the 50th anniversary of the beginning of its internationalization process, which has led it, half a century later, to be present in 90 markets around the world.
It all started with a prospective visit that the Belgian company Beltracy made to the industries of Biscay at that time, during which they approached Amorebieta, after hearing about the quality of the cutting tools that were produced in this Basque town.
The visit, marked by anecdotes such as the appearance of a typical Spanish “botijo” (earthenware pitcher) to cool off, which greatly surprised the Belgians, was crowned with success, as even today, half a century later, Beltracy continues to maintain the exclusive representation of IZAR in Belgium, endowing all the sense to a phrase that in IZAR is common, which is being “a company of the people".
Since then, IZAR has expanded all over the world and sells its tools in all the countries of the European Union, the United States, almost the entire Latin American area and the rest of the most industrialized countries on the globe. This network includes places that could also be a little exotic, such as Tahiti, New Caledonia, Mauritius, Kazakhstan, Namibia ...
In this world in which the Internet and digitalization is blurring borders, IZAR receives daily, through the web, queries about its tools from all parts of the globe. This, together with an active presence at world-renowned fairs and other events in emerging countries, means that the manufacturer of Amorebieta counts on an increasingly developed and efficient sales network in the five continents.
To commemorate this anniversary, IZAR, in addition to presenting the commemorative logo for the occasion, plans to organize an event at its facilities in Boroa throughout the year.
